Albert was born in Wyndham.
He married Caroline Lucas (born at Feilding in 1885) at feilding in 1906.
They had one daughter & three sons. Two of the sons, Albert Jnr & Donald served in WW2.
Albert started out as a shop assistant with his brother John in Feilding. He then moved to Levin.
During the period from 1910 to 1917 he ran a shop in Oxford St Levin, with his brother Albert. The shop was in the name of "Haswell Brothers", also promoted as "The Farmers Exchange".
He then moved to Wellington, still as a shopkeeper. He died quite young.
