Alexander CAMPION

Alexander was born at Raumai.
He married Margaret Gleeson (born at Turakina in 1861) at Feilding in 1885.
They had 11 children, six girls & five boys.
Three sons, Thomas, Neil & Jack all served in WW1, along with one son-in-law Peter Leslie.
One son Cornelius (Neil) was killed in action at Gallipoli in 1915.
Alexander started out as a livery stable keeper in Palmerston Nth around the early 1890's. He was then a hotelkeeper at Longburn 1896-1900 before moving to Manakau as a farmer. He was at Waikanae, Ohau then finally Reikorangi as a farmer between 1911 to 1927.
