Archibald was born in Ireland.
He married Mary Gibson (born in Ireland in 1841) at Ardee, Louth, Ireland in 1862.
They had four sons & two daughters, all born in Ireland.
The family immigrated to NZ in 1883. The oldest child was 18 & the youngest was 8.
Archibald is shown on the 1890 electoral rolls as a farmer in Petone. Nothing else can be found on him. Mary, as a widow lived in Masterton from 1905 to 1919 and then moved to Petone.
Archibalds's probate shows he was a settler in South Carterton.
