He married Lily Matthews (born at Wanganui in 1880) at Wellington in 1905.
They had four sons.
Two, Mervyn & Dudley, served in WW2.
Cyrus started out as a labourer in Shannon around 1905. In 1919 he was in Rangataua & then was a mill worker at Mangapehi in 1928.
In 1935 he is shown as living in Queen St Levin as a labourer. In 1946 the family is in Cambridge St Levin. By 1954 it is shown as 227 Cambridge St.
