Frederick was born in Wellington.
He married Julia Parenti (born in Florence, Italy in 1858) at Greytown in 1882.
They had 3 sons & three daughters. Two died in infancy.
Julia died in 1919 and Frederick remarried in 1922 to a widow, Charlotte Matthews.
One son, Bert, served in WW1.
Frederick started as a bullock driver at Greytown in the mid 1880's. He then became a farmer at Hautere. By 1911 he is a sawmill hand at Otaki & then Rangataua.
