Henry was born in Haderslev, Schleswig, Denmark.
He came to NZ with his parents in 1873 at the age of 10.
He married Anina (born in Denmark in 1873) at Palmerston Nth in 1894.
Sadly she died four years later.
In 1913 he married Amelia Molly Johnson/Miller. She died in 1928.
He married for a third time to Clara Fulford in 1935.
Henry had one daughter with Anina.
He was on the electoral rolls in 1896 as a carpenter in Shannon. In 1905 he tried farming at Koputaroa but then returned to being a carpenter by 1911.
He was also a horse driver, a lineman and a carpenter again.
He retired to Palmerston Nth by 1935 with third wife Clara.
