Herman Rudolf (Harry) HASSE
Harry was born at Halcombe.
He married Emily Howard (born at Wellington in 1883) at Levin in 1904.
They had three sons & two daughters. One son died at the age of 6.
The first child was born at Shannon and the rest in the Porirua area.
One son, Arthur, served in WW2 & one daughter, Hilda, served as a WAAC during WW2.
The family were based in Levin around 1904/05, where Harry was a labourer. He & the family were recorded on the 1905 unofficial census done at the time in relation to the 1905 Levin township petition.
Harry was also a surfaceman at Paekakariki before moving to Porirua where he worked as a laundryman & then became a motor mechanic.
