James WALLACE

James was born at Glascow, Scotland.
He came to NZ as a young man.
He married Isabella Wild (born at Wellington in 1842) at Wellington in 1863.
They had 6 daughters & 4 sons. At least two of the daughters died in infancy.
One son James (Jnr) served in WW1.
James was a Provisional Director at the formation of the Wellington & Manawatu Railway Co & its first Secretary & Manager. He later farmed at Shannon.
He is buried at Shannon.
