We don't know where John was born or when he came to NZ.
We think he married Mary around 1867. We don't know her maiden name. She was born c 1863-1867 and died in 1901. She drowned in a pool after being discharged from Porirua Hospital.
They did not appear to have any children.

Her inquest is in Papers Past in Nov 1901.
John was a carter in Dannevirke then a livery stableman in Palmerston Nth before moving to Levin around 1903 to be a stablekeeper in Queen St.
