Josiah HARVEY

Josiah was born at St Cleer, Cornwall, England.

He emigrated to NZ in 1909, along with his brother (Howard & sister-in-law Edith - see their separate profile).

He also moved to Levin where he married Eveline Walker (born at Sydney, Australia in 1891) at Levin in 1914.

They had four daughters & three sons. However this must have been a sad family. One daughter died at age 9, another at 18 & a third at 17. All three sons died at early ages too, 21, 23, & 17. Three of the children died within a three week period in 1942. The only daughter who did not die young lived with her parents.

Josiah outlived all but one child & Eveline outlived all her children.

Josiah was also a cabinetmaker by trade and that is what he did with his brother. By 1928 he had branched out to being a builder & contractor.
