He married Winifred McLeavey (born 1890) in 1916.
Two years later he died. In his short working life he was a dairy farmer at Ohau.
His widow moved to York St, Levin.
In 1924 she married John MacDonald (born in Australia in 1885). He had served in WW1 in the NZ Rifle Brigade.
They had one son.
John was also a farmer, in Beach Rd, Weraroa.
