Thomas was born at Wanganui.
He married Emma Prouse (born at Wainuiomata in 1889) in 1912.
They had two daughters, on of whom died in chidlbirth.
Thomas served in WW1 and was a captain in the Home Guard in WW2.
Thomas started as a telegraphist in Levin around 1908, became a land agent around 1911 & the a farmer in Kawiu Rd from 1922.
All the family are buried in Levin.
