Thomas was born at Fifeshire in Scotland.
His mother died early and his father remarried.
The family arrived in NZ in 1872, moving to Napier.
He married Annie Mcgee in 1892. Nothing has been found about Annie. Thye had no children.
Thomas started as an accountant & then became an iron merchant in Napier. He was also a sheep farmer at Makotuka & a land agent in Dannevirke.
He is recorded as being the publican of the Levin Hotel from 1897 to 1898.
He died at Durban in Sth Africa.
