Wilford was born in Wellington.
He married Ethel Cotter (born in upper Hutt in 1882) at Lower Hutt in 1902.
They had five children, two girls, three boys. One died very young. Two were born in Shannon, one in Levin & two in Feilding.
One son, Wilfred (Bob) served in WW2.
Wilford was shown as a farmer in Levin in the 1905 electoral rolls. Then he was at Colyton till 1914, then Waikanae & finally at Te Horo.
