William was born in Sidelsham, Sussex, England.
He married Nellie Yelland (born in Sussex, England) in Middlesex in 1903.
They had two children, both born in Croyden, England.
They then moved to NZ and William is first shown as a fishmonger in Wellington in 1911.
What he did between 1914 & 1922 is not known. However in 1922 he owns a leasehold property in Oxford St West, Levin and runs a bookshop out of these premises. Today that property is Bay Audiology.
In 1928 he moved to Rotorua as a florist, not long before he died.
