William Francis HEALY

William was born at Blessington, Wicklow, Ireland.

He married Annie Delahunty (born at Tipperay, Ireland in 1851) in 1976.

They had five sons & two daughters.

Two sons, William Patrick & Michael Peter (Damien), moved to Queensland, Australia & joined the AIF together. They both served (WW1) in the 25th Battalion & both rose to 2nd Ltd. William was killed at West Flanders & Michael Ypres Salient, although his body was never recoverd.

Another son, Patrick,served as a Lt in the Wellington Infantry Battalion. He lost a leg in the war.

William was a clerk at the Wellington Harbour Bd all his working life.

However he was the original purchaser of Levin Suburban Block 61, (15 acres) in Jul 1893. This is the area now between Queen St & Queenwood Rd & internally by Dorset St, Sherwood Place & Karaka Cres.
