William was born at Auckland.
He married Augusta Harris (born at Devonshire, England in 1870) at Wellington in 1889.
Augusta emigrated to NZ, with her mother in 1885. Her father was already in NZ.
When William died, Augusta married his brother Alfred.
Augusta had a son (no father recorded) before marrying William. He was a Harris but sometimes used Terry. He married, briefly, into the local Astridge family.
William & Augusta's first three children were all girls who died in infancy. They then had a further son & daughter.
William started out as a labourer at Lower Hutt & then Palmerston Nth & Tokomaru. By 1911 he was a millhand living in Keepa St.
Both William & Augusta & her mother are buried in Levin.
