Archie was born at Akaroa.
He was the 5th child of 8 of his father's 2nd marriage. There ere 5 children from the st marriage.
He never married.
He started in photography in Palmerston Nth around 1908.
He then moved to Levin in 1922, operating out of the upstairs portion of the 'Haswell Building" in Oxford St.
He was there until 1949 when he moved to Queen St.
His brother Robert was a joint owner of the Horowhenua Chronicle & a nephew, Hewitt was killed in 1944 in WW2.
Archie was a stalwart of the Waiopehu Tramping Club.
He is buried in Levin.
